About Us

PreSonus Audio Electronics, Inc has become known for delivering professional quality audio products at affordable prices to audio professionals, musicians and hobbyists around the world. The PreSonus staff in the sales, engineering, and customer service departments all have years of experience in professional audio as musicians and sound engineers which brings passion for music-making to every facet of the company. PreSonus' founder and President Jim Odom is credited with two RIAA Certified Gold Records, one Certified Platinum Record along with two Ampex Golden Reel Awards as a musician/producer/engineer.

PreSonus Software Limited is an entity of PreSonus, based in Ireland with an R&D Facility in Hamburg, Germany. PreSonus Software is working on next-generation software solutions for music production on PC, Macintosh and mobile platforms, integrating perfectly with the PreSonus audio hardware product line. Its team has decades of cumulated experience in music software development and shares the same passion for music as the staff in other parts of the company.

In December 2021 PreSonus merged with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) sharing the combined vision of creating an ecosystem that seamlessly integrates hardware and software to create an effortless end-to-end experience for customers at all levels in their creative journey.

History

2020

Studio One® 5 is released with major new features like score editing based on technology from Notion™ and introducing a new Show Page for live performance. The new PreSonus Sphere membership offers all-inclusive access to PreSonus applications, plug-ins, and content, as well as cloud sharing and collaboration options.

2019

PreSonus celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Studio One® with versions 4.5 and 4.6. The updated state-space amp modeling and FX suite Ampire 3 is launched, including support for 3rd party plug-in formats via the new PreSonus Hub.

2018

Studio One® 4 is released with innovative features like industry-first chord transposition for audio. The Fat Channel plug-in collection is available for native and DSP use in StudioLive™ Series III digital mixers and Studio One®.

2015

PreSonus wins a NAMM TEC Award for the innovative Capture™ for iPad® mobile recording app. Studio One® 3 is announced, the next major step in the evolution of our DAW.

2013

PreSonus introduces the AI (Active Integration™) platform based on the UCNET remote protocol and shared DSP technology between Studio One® and the StudioLive™ product line. Studio One® 2.5 wins a MIPA Award.

2011

PreSonus partners with Celemony to develop the pioneering ARA Audio Random Access API. The first major upgrade Studio One® 2.0 is released with integrated Melodyne pitch correction.

2009

Studio One® is announced at Musikmesse Frankfurt. PreSonus Audio Electronics, Inc. takes over all assets of KristalLabs including the whole development team, and PreSonus Software Limited is established.

2006

KristalLabs Software Limited, a start-up company founded in Hamburg by a group of software developers known for some of the products that defined music technology begins to work on Capture™ and Studio One® in cooperation with PreSonus.
